Learning To Burn
This short documentary follows the Lake Cavanaugh Fire Department, a totally volunteer response team, in a training exercise aimed to teach fire fighters how fire behaves in structures, and how to control fire. The property being demolished is one of the original cabins that founded the community of Lake Cavanaugh in the late 30's and early 40's. Sacrificing the cabin to fire helps safeguard this forest community by ensuring that first responders have the experience needed to fight a cabin fire.
